Hi, I’m Maria Sandoval, BA, ASDH, a dedicated myofunctional therapist with a passion for helping people achieve better oral and overall health. I have been practicing as a dental hygienist since 2012, with a strong focus on the oral-systemic connection—understanding how oral health impacts the entire body.
I have pursued advanced training through specialized courses and ongoing annual continuing education. As a proud member of Airway Circle and the American Dental Hygiene Association, I stay up to date with the latest research in airway health and orofacial myofunctional therapy to provide the best care for my clients.
I focus on sleep-disordered breathing, clenching, teeth grinding, tethered oral tissues (tongue ties, lip ties, cheek ties), and orofacial pain. My goal is to help clients of all ages restore proper function, breathing, and balance for long-term health and wellness.
I believe that functional breathing, quality sleep, and optimal oral health are the foundation of overall well-being. These essential functions influence everything from energy levels and focus to jaw development and posture. Many clients struggle with symptoms they don’t realize are connected—such as mouth breathing, jaw tension, and sleep disturbances—and my goal is to help identify and address these root causes, not just manage symptoms.
I also believe in a team-based, collaborative approach. I work to connect my clients with ENTs, orthodontists, dentists, and primary care physicians to ensure my clients receive comprehensive, whole-body care. Many people go undiagnosed with airway and myofunctional disorders for years, and I see myself as an advocate and educator, guiding clients toward the right solutions alongside their healthcare team.
Finally, I understand that every client’s journey is unique. I meet people where they are, providing a structured yet flexible plan to help them reach their goals in a way that feels achievable and sustainable. Whether you’re seeking relief from jaw pain, struggling with poor sleep, or looking to optimize breathing for better health, I’m here to support and empower you every step of the way.
Outside of my work, I love to travel, try new restaurants with friends, attend concerts—including ACL annually—and spend as much time outdoors as possible. My husband, Raul, and I are proud to call Austin home, where we raise our daughter and our lovable Yorkie.
I am also incredibly proud to serve not just Austin but the surrounding communities of Buda, Dripping Springs, Kyle, and Lakeway. The people of Austin are warm, welcoming, and kind, and it’s an honor to support their health and well-being through myofunctional therapy. Helping my neighbors breathe, sleep, and feel better is truly rewarding, and I’m grateful to be part of such a wonderful, thriving community.
I look forward to working with you and helping you take the next step toward better oral and overall health!
